Ports : Ports are the doors to your computer and any device connected to a network from where data comes in and goes out from the device.
Classification of the Status of Ports

3. Filtered (Protected by Firewall)
Types of Ports

1. Physical Ports : Ports which are tangible in nature i.e which we can see and touch.
Example : USB Ports, VGA, HDMI port etc etc etc...
2. Virtual Ports: These are the virtual intangible ports from where data flows in and out from the device.
For Example :65,000 approx.
Predefined Ports : In Virtual ports we have many port numbers which are reserved for a range of protocols which cannot be changed.
For Example : HTTPS: 80,8080 , FTP : 21
User Defined Ports : These are the ports which are defined by the users mostly within the network according to the requirement policy of the respective organisation.
For Example: VOIP : Random available port
